Signing Contracts

Posted on September 28, 2020 in Firm News

Always be aware when you sign a contract that you are going to be legally bound to that agreement. Contracts cannot be easily broken. It is important that you read everything including the fine print.
Contracts are usually binding agreements between two or more parties. It is important to realize when signing a contract you are committing to an agreement. It may be prudent to have a professional review the contract before you make any long financial commitments. Here are a few tips that may be useful.
1. Anything that was promised verbally must be in writing in the contract.
2. All blank spaces need to be filled in with the appropriate dates, names, etc.
3. You can always take the contract home and review it. Never feel pressure to sign quickly. When in doubt postpone signing.
4. Have a professional review the contract. There will be out of pocket expenses; however, the benefits of having piece of mind and not having adverse financial commitments will be well worth it.
